Short Bio:

Bill Miller is an artist and a craftsman having a style and visual approach that has won acclaim throughout his career. Bill's productions are noted for their visual excitement, emotional warmth, technical expertise and outstanding photography. As a freelance director/cinematographer and before that as a partner at The Spotwise Agency, Bill directed and photographed nearly 2,000 television spots for all the major networks, cable networks, television syndicators and dozens of TV stations. Most recently, he directed the feature-length motion picture, Bluff, starring Lenny Clarke. Bill is probably best know for the long running opening he directed for Siskel & Ebert at the Movies, for Buena Vista Television. It is indeed sad that we note here the passing of Gene Siskel.

Bill approaches each job with a fresh perspective that opens the door to unlimited creative options. He feels that in order to succeed a project must have input from a multitude of disciplines and that he, as orchestra leader, blends them to perfection. His work does have an orchestral quality about it, revealed in the layers of images, the choreography of action, the tempo of music, the fusion of reality and fantasy and the spirit of genuine spontaneity.

One of his greatest assets is being able to see the whole picture, while not losing sight of the individual parts. As a former writer and editor, he brings to every shoot a vast knowledge of how all the pieces will ultimately fit together for meaningful communications. Add to this his energetic style, his congenial personality and off-beat sense-of-humor, and you will have all the ingredients to make your next project a successful and pleasurable experience.

Bill works in all formats of film and video including commercials, high-end corporate communications, television programming, and action documentaries. And his clients read like a Who's Who in American Entertainment: Walt Disney Television, NBC, ABC, ESPN, CNN, Universal Television, Viacom, Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus, New York Mets, L.A. Lakers and scores of other nationally-known companies. Bill is at home in all situations from multi-camera studio shoots with actors, dancers and large sets to a quiet mountain top where he and his camera capture the beauty and solitude of an alpine sunset.

Recognition of his directing talent and photographic skills have come in every shape and form including Emmys, Clios, Art Directors Club Medals, ProMax Gold Medals and numerous other industry citations.

BLUFF - 97 minutes

Bluff stars stand-up comedians Lenny Clarke, Kenny Rogerson and
George MacDonald. It's a dark comedy about revenge. Five friends from prep school gather for their 24th annual poker game at a bar in Somerville. The group's history has been rocky and over the years the poker game has become more volatile, opening old wounds and revealing secrets from the past. Last year, one of the friends became so enraged that he busted up the bar and this year no one knows what's going to happen. Tensions build and .... well you'll just have to come to the premiere to find out what happens. On the set there's a constant chatter with jokes flying everywhere. It's like being at the Comedy Connection all day long. It was tough not to laugh, especially during the film's very serious dramatic moments. The film was actually written for Lenny Clarke who's been on a roll lately with parts in "Rounders," "Monument Ave," and "There's Something About Mary". Working with comedians is like having an adult kindergarten class with all of the kids having Attention Deficit Disorder. But it was a wonderful experience and I wouldn't trade it for all the 401 K plans in the world

"When I'm not shooting tv shows or movies, I'm at home on the back of my trusty mount, Fantastic Tailwind, shown here in hot pursuit of the hounds of the Norfolk Hunt."
